Time for another Stuck?! Sketches Challenge!

It a busy time of the year and even though this great sketch
is perfect for a Christmas layout,
I had these construction site photos on my pile to scrap call out to me!
Unfortunately I did not have orange to make a pylon, so
I chose to use some ink and keep the layout looking a little dirty,
like the way David came home from work that Summer!

We have great sponsors this month!
is giving a $25 Gift Certificate to a lucky participant!

is giving a $20 Gift Certificate to their store!

Hope you find some time to join us this month
And make time to check out all the

Scraplift Sunday!

Found a little time this evening to get a quick layout done with the assistance of a beautiful layout featured on the Paper Issues Blog for Scrap Lift Sunday.

A fun photo that has been sitting on the Pile to Scrap!
Used lots of scraps and some Old
Embellishments for this one!

Fun Memories with Friends!

Such a great sketch again by Laura Stuck?! Sketches
I ended up doing two layouts for this Dec 1 Challenge,

My First DT Layout features a couple fun girlie photos
taken last year when we were skiing with friends at Big White.
Since I love adding Memorabilia to my layouts,
I also saved and included the tag off my new Kombi Thermals.

While I was back in Edmonton on business,
a friend contacted me and wanted to get together so I
could help her get started on scrapbooking.
I stopped by a local Scrapbook Store, Scrap Addicts, that I always visit
and noticed they had a free crop afternoon later that week.
As I was travelling, I was limited in supplies...
I checked out their clearance rack and grabbed some paper,
I really liked the Green and Burgundy on the "b" side and selected a few Prima Embellishments.
I actually selected those items because I had a Christmas Layout in mind.

Funny how things come together,
later that day I picked up a friend who was recovering from having some major surgery.
She hadn't been out of the house for 3 weeks.
Lesley decided to do a Snapchat photo and post that she actually left the house!
I laughed because later that week when I went to the crop afternoon
I knew those photos had to be scrapped with that
Teddy Bear Paper, not the Christmas Layout
I had in Mind using the "b" side of the paper!

Laura's sketch was perfect.
Hence, one great sketch, two fun layouts!

I hope you make time to join us this month,
We have some great prize sponsors!
AND a 10% coupon for any orders using the voucher code STUCK10

Is giving one lucky winner a gorgeous themed prize pack!

Another Stuck?! Sketches Challenge for November!

Hey Scrappy Friends!
Its time for some mid-month inspiration
from the Design Team over at Stuck?! Sketches
Laura has given us another great sketch to work with
and we have some great prizes to go along with this challenge!

Lindys Stamp Gang is offering a $25 Gift certificate
to their store of goodies!
and Scrapbook Nerd is offering $20 in spending
to increase your stash of goodness!

Here is the November 15th Sketch

and here is my take on this challenge;

For this layout I used up a lot of MME scraps,
some Stampin Up Designer paper that I have had for years,
A few pieces of MME chipboard as well as a K&Co chipboard
butterfly that has probably been in my stash for 10 years!
It was a good stash busting layout for me
and... I had to utilize a little piece of
Canada 150 memorabilia from Canadian Tire!

We sure hope you make time to join us this month,
check out the sponsor links and the design teams layouts on the blog :)

Super Excited! My Stuck?! Sketches Debut!

I'm Super Excited that I have been asked to be part of the
New Design Team over at Stuck?! Sketches
As you all know I love to use a sketch
for inspiring a starting point for my layouts.

Here is the Oct 1 Challenge Reveal
The Sponsors this month are;
a $30 Gift Certificate to Scrapbook Circle online shop!
Wycinanka Themed Prize Pack!

Here is the October 1 Sketch

Since I was so excited to be joining the Design Team
I was inspired to do two layouts that will sit in my
album facing each other, somewhat like a
two page layout, but they are from different days
but of our favourite road trip stop,
Twin Falls Gorge Territorial Park
We generally drive a few times each year between Yellowknife & Edmonton,
the park is located 75km north of the Alberta and Northwest Territories Border
and we always stop to stretch our legs and enjoy the views of the falls.

32-metre-high Alexandra Falls

and then a few kilometres away
3 tiered Louis Falls

The water is tea stained in colour and flows fast.
This year the water level is low,
its really fun to stand behind the falls on a
year when the water level is much higher.

Hope you enjoyed my take on the sketch and our favourite NWT Road Trip stop,
we look forward to your takes on the October 1 Sketch
don't forget to link it up for your chance to win one of the
monthly giveaways!

CS Sketchy Challenge Catch Up!

The summer has kept us busy getting settled into
full time living in Yellowknife and finishing construction on our Tiny Cabin...
which had an expansion last weekend which I will save for another post.

I managed to squeeze in some time to scrapbook last night and
completed these two layouts using the
Sketchy Challenge at Creative Scrapbooker

Using the June Sketch and a June photo!

The Fish Tale
One evening back in June, our two VP's were up for meetings
in YK and we decided to take them to the cabin for dinner.
Kara brought her son, 5 year old Nathaniel.
After dinner Sean decided to do a little fishing
while us ladies talked shop and did the dishes.
on the second cast Nathaniel landed a fish,
Sean decided to video tape his struggle,
I loved listening to the coaching and encouragement,
and it was so cute how Nathaniel kept telling Sean
he was to little and needed Sean to help him because
it was too hard to reel the big fish in.
Luckily we heard Sean call us ladies
and we got to the shore in time to take a few photos.
It was the first time Nathaniel caught his own fish!

These photo were sitting on the "Pile to Scrap"
for quite some time, had papers and embellishments
already chosen so it came together quite quickly
with the July Sketch.

Hopefully I will find another night soon to catch up
on the August and September CS Sketchy Challenge!

August Sketches with Stuck?! Sketches

Managed to squeeze in a Saturday Evening/Sunday Morning of
Scrapbooking on the boardroom table at the office!
I made a big mess pulling out all my stash to make these pages
but it finally felt good to get some scrappy time, it was just too short.

Here are my layouts
Based on the August 1st Challenge

This one came together easily with a
photo that should have been scrapbooked long ago!

I'm really please with both of them and hope I don't have to
wait this long to scrapbook again!
